2018 Aperture Gala

The 2018 Aperture Gala celebrated both the release of Hank Willis Thomas’s book All Things Being Equal and the release of the Family issue of Aperture Magazine. The theme focused on photography’s role in expanding our vision of family. Honorees included Agnes Gund, Catherine Gund, Catherine Opie, Hank Willis Thomas, and Dr. Deborah Willis. 

The graphic treatment played with stacking or breaking words emphasizes the idea that a family is a group of individuals who constitute a whole.
